Although it was kind of a big goal for David to meet as a 4 year old, we thought it would be a good idea to try. We started by learning the songs. It was going great!
After a little while, we found out that the Primary (our church's Sunday school for 3-11 year olds) was doing a goal to learn them all as well. Each time David learned one, he could pass it off and get a piece of candy. This definitely added to his motivation. Haha!
Along with that, we decided that if we learned them all together, we would go bowling! That's something that David has wanted to do for a while. And this past week, we decided to go a little early (since David knew all of the first 12 songs and half of the 13th one) so that we could go with my family at Thanksgiving time.
Tami and John being random...
We had so much fun bowling together! For most of the time, Tami, John, and I tried bowling the ball in different, silly ways. Like left handed, backwards between the legs, full on running, and trying to hit the bumpers five times (which actually scored me a strike!). As usual, my Dad scored the highest. :) It was a lot of fun!
I'm glad David was able to learn the 13 Articles of Faith with us! I think it is very important for him to know what we believe in our church so that he can understand it and gain and strengthen his own faith in the gospel, rather than just going to church "because we said so".
And also, it's actually pretty helpful when people ask such a broad question as, "what does your church believe in?"
