Every year, I love to look through the Christmas isle at the store!...
But not until after Christmas.
Yep. I'm one of those people that waits until things are anywhere between 50-90% off and then buys things I can use next year.
Well, last year, I randomly picked up a Christmas bouquet in the clearance section with the intent to break it apart and use it for picks for the tree. But after some time, I decided to use it for a centerpiece instead.
And although I wouldn't say it's the most amazing thing ever, it definitely adds a festive touch to the dining room!
All I needed for this project was a large vase (This one I got at the thrift store for $2! Score!), a bouquet (or floral picks), and some ornaments.
First, I cut the bouquet into two pieces. The top half was way longer than the bottom half so it wouldn't fit in the vase without cutting it.
Then, I used the leftover ornaments that didn't make it on our tree and put them in the vase.
Once that was done, I put the two sections of the bouquet in the center of the ornaments and moved things around until I liked how it looked.
One nice thing about using the leftover ornaments from our tree is that it made it so it matched the rest of the decorations! And they're large enough that it won't make a big mess if my kids take them out of the vase.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be sipping hot coca on my sofa, watching the boys play plinko on our tree with the ornaments.
