Christmas 2017

Christmas was great this year! On Saturday, we went to visit my Grandma Cail, Great Aunt Shirley, and Aunt Jodie. We had a fun time visiting with them and John got to help with the monster cookies Aunt Shirley was making for her grandsons.

The next day was Christmas Eve so we went to church where David got to sing two songs with his Primary group. Then, later that afternoon, we went caroling to two different senior living homes followed by dinner at John's grandparents' house. We had a lot of fun seeing all of our extended family and getting to spend time with them!

On Christmas day, we got to open presents together and see what Santa brought our family this year. Unfortunately, I got sick the night before and pretty much laid on the sofa for most of the day, which I guess isn't very different from what a lot of people do on Christmas day even when they're not sick...
Well, since I was sick, I stayed home to rest and try to get better before John leaves for his brother, Kevin's wedding in Ohio. John and the kids were still able to go to John's parents' house though to have dinner with them and bring them the gifts we forgot to give them at the Christmas Eve dinner.

Brooke got some Princess Brooke goldfish!

Here's David trying to make a "tough guy" face with the BB gun my sister gave us.

And here's Brooke with a great book my Dad made us! It was full of his own nature photography as well as quite a few pictures of David and Brooke.

Overall, it was a great holiday season which was made even better from the Light the World service campaign. And now, for some people the countdown starts over... Happy 364 days until Christmas! Haha!
