Temple Square Lights

Yesterday we had a really fun date night... which was actually just a "family fun night" since we're usually too cheap to pay for a babysitter. Either way, I planned something I wanted to do with the entire family anyway so it was great! First, we went to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building on Temple Square in Salt Lake City to visit the new charity vending machines. They are a new part of the #LightTheWorld campaign that the LDS church is putting on this season. I thought it was a pretty cool way to donate this Christmas season! They had four different vending machines with different things you could purchase for someone in need. The line was pretty long, but I'm glad we went a little earlier in the evening because it just kept getting longer as the night went on!

After that we had dinner at the City Creek Center mall across the street. Once the Christmas lights were on, we went back to Temple Square to see them all along with the Nativity.

Even if you're not a member of the LDS church, visiting temple square at Christmas time is a great way to remember Christ's birth and life.
