The one recipe my family asks me for most often is a recipe I got from my college cooking class. It's a recipe for crepe filling that just so happens to make an amazing fruit dip as well! In fact, we use it so much more often for fruit dip rather than in crepes, that I'm just straight up calling it a fruit dip recipe. Haha!
So, here's how to make this super easy dip.
First, cream together 8 oz of cream cheese (softened) with 1/2 cup of sugar.
Next, add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 3 Tablespoons of sour cream. Mix until completely combined. (I've also tried the recipe without sour cream when I didn't have any on hand and it works just as well.)
Once that is done, you can tint the fruit dip if you want by adding in a few drops of red food coloring. (Warning... adding blue food coloring will make it look like toothpaste... yes, that comes from experience. lol.)
And that's it!
Along with sliced apples and strawberries, you can also serve this fruit dip with banana slices, graham crackers and even grapes!
This dip can be used right away or covered with plastic wrap and refrigerated until the party starts. And even if it's just you, a plate of fruit, and a chick-flick on Vidangel, that's enough of a "party" to justify making this super yummy treat... and possibly eating it all yourself. Because "party calories" don't count. Haha!
