Cut Out Collages

Sometimes I feel bad for the mailman because he spends so much time just bringing us junk mail... but after this date night, we have another use for all the ads we get that doesn't involve a campfire or the recycle bin.

So John actually came up with this date idea to make collages. As random as that may sound, it was actually a lot of fun! We decided to each make our own advertisements using the pictures and words out of some magazines and newspapers. The results were pretty hilarious!

I'll let you decide whose is whose... ;)

Basically all you need to do this is tape or glue, scissors, plain white pieces of paper to glue your cutouts onto, and a couple of old magazines or newspapers. And if you're lucky, your magazine may include a few little gems like the one I found in ours... Haha!

If you don't want to make advertisements, here are some other ideas:

Create self portraits of each other and try to get the features as close as possible

Design your dream home

Try to find all the words to your favorite song and glue them to the paper

Make a story and include pictures if you want!

Write a letter to a friend

Create a list of cheesy jokes

Make a funny poem (bonus points if it rhymes!)

Create a fake profile for a dating site (these could be hilarious!)

Once we were done making them, we showed each other our finished collages and read them together. I thought they turned out so funny! We'll definitely be trying these again but I think next time we'll switch it up and make something other than an advertisement... like fake dating profiles... for some reason that one makes me laugh just thinking about it! Haha!
