Last year some time, I was trying to decide what to make for my parents for Christmas and I got a great idea! Seeing as most of my family members are Disney super fans, what could be better than to give them something with a Disney quote on it?! And how much better would it be if it was on a doormat?! Because nothing says "I love you" more than a doormat... lol. Really, though. The quote I found just seemed perfect for it and last Christmas they could actually use a new one.
After getting a doormat, paint, glitter (for a little Disney magic...), and a clear sealant spray, I started on my project. I made a stencil by writing the quote on paper and then cutting it out with an xacto-knife. Then, after keeping the paper in place with sewing pins, I used a sponge brush to paint the quote onto the mat. Once it was all dry, I used some glue to add glitter to some of the words. The last thing I did was spray the mat with a clear coat of sealant, I let it dry and wrapped it up!
Most people probably wouldn't recognize the Disney quote I used. It's actually the beginning of the Disneyland welcome speech that two of my sisters may or may not have memorized... I was serious when I said "super fans". Haha!
I should've taken a better picture so the glitter was actually visible, but in case anyone was wondering, I added glitter to all the words in fancier writing (so, "To all", "happy", and "Welcome").
This gave it just the right amount of Disney sparkle without looking like I dipped the entire thing in pixie dust.
Overall, I thought it turned out great and it was a pretty easy and fun project to work on. The only downside is that now I want to go to Disneyland today and can't! Hopefully we'll fit in a trip with our kiddos soon! And until then, we'll just have to keep making a little Disney magic at home. :)
