Birthday time again!

Last Saturday we had another birthday to celebrate and just like that, I am now a quarter of a century old! Overall, I had a good birthday! Even though the week before was pretty long. Here's how it all went down. (That makes it sound a lot more eventful than it was. Haha!)

John had class and scout camp most of the week, which meant, he wouldn't get home until Saturday at lunch time. This also meant that by my birthday, I was pretty tired from basically being on my own with the kids all week... again. I'm just gonna say, I am so looking forward to his break from class in a week!

With that being said, John actually surprised me and came home late Friday night! The boys knew all they were doing Saturday morning was eating breakfast and packing up, and they were all anxious to be back in their own beds again so they packed up and came home! I basically consider this the main reason my birthday was good this year. It super made my whole weekend!

On my actual birthday, I went and got the haircut I've been needing for months and then ran to Walmart on my own which was actually a mom's dream come true at this point in my life. After I got home from that, I helped clean the house since my family was coming up to spend the night on their way to Glacier National Park.

For dinner we had homemade Costa Vida sweet pork nachos and then did cake and presents. John suggested going to the rec center to go swimming but that was so not something I wanted to do since my regular swimsuit would get stretched out and the larger one I use when I'm pregnant wouldn't quite fit yet. That, and I didn't really want to put on a swimsuit while I'm in the awkward "chubby not pregnant" looking phase of pregnancy. lol.

Just a side note, I'm going to have to post more cake recipes on here because my birthday cake was so good this year! I made my favorite chocolate cake with a vanilla mouse filling and an oreo buttercream frosting! John offered to make me a cake on Saturday, but since I thought he was going to be home too late, I had already started it myself the day before. That, and he can't make a layered cake which is the kind I was making, so oh well! I rushed to finish it so it didn't look very pretty, but it tasted great! Luckily, Brooke's birthday is in 2 weeks so I can make another cake, because just thinking about that cake right now is making my mouth water. Haha!

And here are the only pictures taken during the week aside from a picture of David eating the homemade donuts we made since we didn't want to go buy them (I refuse to call that one a craving. Haha!). As you can tell, I had no idea John took these photos. I actually thought he was taking a video. lol.

Once my family got here, I wanted to sleep (the week was so long and tiring) but they wanted to light fireworks... so we lit fireworks. And then I finally got to sleep.

Overall, my birthday was great! It was pretty chill and low-key but after a tough week (make that, month) that was just what I needed.

Oh, and as an added bonus, here's David and the donut. Enjoy. :)
