Brooke turned 2!

As of last Thursday, we have a two year old in the house again! Although to be honest, it felt like Brooke reached her moody two year old stage a month ago... She has actually been pretty good. I've just noticed a bit more moodiness than normal... especially with tantrums and crying...

Along with the moodiness, she's learning a lot! She can say quite a bit more, but there are still moments when she'll say the same distinct phrase multiple times to us and we still can't figure it out... One thing she'll do is come up to John or I, give us a hug, and say, "I love you too!" That's so stinkin' cute!

So, back to the day of... Brooke had a pretty good birthday! The day was pretty chill for the most part. She got to watch some Sofia and Mickey Mouse cartoons and she and David played around the house while I finished her cake.

Once John got home, we had her birthday dinner and then cake and presents. For her birthday dinner, I tried to ask her what she wanted to eat and she just said mac and cheese. Since John and I don't actually like mac and cheese, John made tacos as well and Brooke ended up eating a little of both.

Her cake was a raspberry cake with a vanilla mousse filling and a cream cheese flavored buttercream (Using cream cheese baking emulsion instead of vanilla or cream cheese. That might sound weird, but it's actually sooo much better than plain vanilla buttercream!).

Most of her presents this year were some clothes, books, and toys along with a cute Minnie Mouse backpack from Grandma and Grandpa Grimes (which she immediately put her new books in!).

The only present she got to open early was actually by accident. After Brooke's nap, she woke up and wandered into the guest room (without me knowing) where she found all her wrapped presents sitting on the bed. The very first one she opened was a Cinderella barbie. That was good enough for her and she went out of the room without opening any of the others! She's definitely our girly-girl! Haha! Once she found Cinderella, she didn't want to give her back and at that point, it wasn't worth re-wrapping it.

After cake and presents, Brooke wanted to go on a walk (she always wants to go on a walk. lol.), so that's what we did! :)
Also, David got to practice riding his bike (with John's help) and then Brookie got a turn on it as well.

Overall, it was a nice birthday for Brooke! And with only 4 of us and one cake, Brooke got to celebrate it over and over again for the next few days. Haha!

On a side note, I keep thinking that I need to make half a cake for the next birthday we have in our house so we won't have as many leftovers... But then... it's cake... so, maybe leftovers aren't so bad. :)
