First, the more exciting part... David started school! He had a meet your teacher night Monday, a school orientation day on Wednesday, and was on his own Thursday and Friday. In his own words, "I wasn't even nervous at all!" (Even though he had a slight deer in the headlights stare the first day he was waiting in line to go to class on his own. Haha!)
After his first day of school, I tried to ask him if he learned anything new or did anything fun. He couldn't remember... So, now starts the traditional conversations of, "How was school?"... "Good."... Luckily, by the time John got home and asked him, he could remember a few of the Chinese phrases and rules he learned. We are so excited for him to be starting this new chapter in his life. And also, I realized for the first time, that bringing only Brooke to the grocery store is a walk in the park! Haha!
Although this happened the week before (not last week)... David started soccer! He loves it but as a new player, he kind of runs around the big group in the middle and waits for the ball to come to him instead of running right to it. Also, his team is the Flamingos... He doesn't mind the uniform since it's mixed with a lot of navy blue, but he definitely doesn't like the pink socks that he says makes him look like he has flamingo legs. Lol. Overall, despite the random team name, he loves going to soccer! I'm so glad we signed him up!
For Brooke this week, not much new happened for her other than some extra "mommy and me" time while David was at school. She also had her 2 year old checkup and did awesome! She had to get the regular vaccinations and didn't even cry! She's a tough one! Although part of it may have been the fact that she knew she would get a sucker when it was all done. :)
One other cute story for Brooke this week...
I let her help pick out her clothes for church on Sunday and she insisted that she wear her new princess pajamas. I tried to reason with her that this dress had a bow, or this dress had hearts on it, so they were princess dresses, but she didn't buy it... That is until I remembered that she had some slightly poofier dresses hanging in her closet! I said, "Ooooh, I know what dresses you're looking for. Your princess dresses!" I took out the poofier ones and since they were poofier and a little more fancy, Brooke agreed that they were princess dresses. Haha! She picked out the blue one, cried because she changed her mind to the red one, spilled milk on the red one, and changed back to the blue one... In the end, I'm calling that a win for mom this week since she wore a dress to church instead of pj's.
School started for John too and he was not quite as enthusiastic as David was. I wonder why... lol. This will be his last semester this year and then he's half way done!!! And then, we'll get some small amount of freedom again!
For me, it was a pretty busy week and with two doctor's appointments, I did finally find out the gender of our new little one... which I'll post separately this week.
Well, one week of school down, and I'm not even counting how many left to go!
