Quote Frame

Have you ever gone to an activity or somewhere out of the house and just felt so... full? Or, I guess... filled? Like, by the end, you just take a big breath and think, "Wow, I needed this!"

Well, I had that feeling at a church relief society activity a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if it was the speakers, the fact that I was finally getting out of the house and only bringing the baby along, or the small dessert bar at the end. To be honest though... it was probably a combination of the three. Haha!

Anyway, one speaker said that she got a letter board and used it to display a quote or scripture that went along with their family's scripture study for the week.

When I heard this idea, I knew it was something I wanted to do in my own home.

Not having a letter board, and being the cheap mom that I am (lol) I decided to use what I had around the house: a picture frame and a dry erase marker.

I was originally going to put a cute piece of paper in this frame, but the temple picture was already in it and it seemed like the perfect thing to use!

To make sure the words were readable, I cut out a square of wax paper that was the same size as the frame. By laying it over the picture, it slightly blurred and lightened it enough that the words came through a little stronger.

After writing a quote on it and hanging it in our kitchen, it was done. And it took hardly any time at all! Or at least less time than it would have taken for Amazon to ship us a letter board, even with two-day shipping! Haha!

Now, I can use this to help me remember what to share with my kids about what we've been studying. Also, it's a great reminder for me to talk with my kids about it on the days that I forget... because along with being a cheap mom, the long list of alarms on my phone reminds me that sometimes I'm also a very forgetful mom. Haha!
