Brooke is officially 4!
And let me just say, she is the girliest 4 year old imaginable.
She loves anything princessy, pink, and sparkly.
I don't know where she gets it from. Lol. 😉
Well this year, we were planning on celebrating her birthday on Saturday, buuut, John's sister needed some help renovating a new building they bought, so, she spent the day at Grandma's with her siblings and cousin, Izzy instead. Overall, not a bad thing. Haha! She had tons of fun!
One cute thing that happened was that after making a wish and blowing out the candles, we sat down to eat some cake. I asked her what she wished for and David said, "She can't tell you or it won't come true!" I assured him that as a four year old, she probably made a wish that would come true either way... And besides, I really wanted to hear what she wished for!
(As a side note, who came up with the "or it won't come true" thing? Honestly, there's a much higher chance wishes would come true if others heard what your wishes were... at least for young kids anyway...)
So, Brooke told us that she wished for a pink barbie.
Less than a minute later, Grandma Le Starge came in and gave her her birthday present. She opened it up and lo and behold! It was a barbie in a pink sparkly dress.
David just sat there amazed and I heard him softly say, "It came true!" The quiet awe in his voice was priceless. It was so cute!
Well, going back to cake, Brooke asked for a blue barbie cake this year, so that's what she got! It definitely turned out better than last year's barbie cake, too!
Sunday was Brooke's actual birthday and Aunt Julia came up to celebrate with us. We made pink cupcakes with purple icing since the cake was eaten on Saturday. We also had her choice of food for her birthday dinner: chicken nuggets and french fries. Her favorite! Haha!
This year, Brooke got pretty much what was expected for such a girly girl. Barbies and a Minnie Mouse book from her family, dress up tiaras, jewelry, and shoes (from Julia), and a princess comforter for her room (from Grandma and Grandpa Grimes).
The rest of the day was spent playing with her new toys.
Brooke is such a sweet, cute girl. Although she has her moments, just like any 4 year old, she is still a great sister to her two brothers and a fun daughter to have!
She is usually down to run errands with me or Daddy and she loves anything Barbie, Minnie Mouse, or Disney Princess. She loves having friends over to play barbies with and likes playing "family" as well with a Mommy and a baby.
I can't wait to see what this year brings for this fun girl!
Also, just for fun, here are a few of her favorite things again this year.
