John got it on November 8th.
So, John went to work (as usual) and then got sick late Sunday night with a fever, aches, and chills. His boss got sick the day before and by Tuesday, at least 5 other people at his work were home sick.
Thankfully, we hadn't been out much that week anyway so we most likely didn't spread it to anyone.
4 days later (Thursday night) I had a hard time sleeping in the middle of the night. I felt a little achy in my middle and like it was slightly hard to breathe but thought it was a part of being pregnant. I stood up and was dizzy, so I knew it wasn't just in my head. Then, I felt like I was going to throw up but that feeling went away pretty quickly and I was able to go back to sleep.
The next day I got a runny nose and felt a little sick.
In the end, John's fever was completely gone by Wednesday (the 11th) and he was achy and felt sick until about Thursday or Friday. Mine was so much more mild that John didn't think I actually had it (I basically just had a stuffy nose and was a little more tired in the afternoons). But last week, we both lost our senses of smell which wouldn't have been from a normal cold.
Thankfully, none of our kids showed signs of the virus. The worst part was home schooling, but with a new homeschool management plan I put in place last week, the whining and complaining got a lot better (David's complaining... not mine. Haha!).
We were blessed that John is in a job where he was able to work from home. It was fun for the kids and I because we got to see him during his lunch breaks!
Staying home wasn't too bad for us but I did still make the kids come in the car with me to do a no contact grocery pickup just so they were out of the house for 20 minutes. Aaron was just staring out the window the entire time in awe, like he forgot there was an "outside" other than our yard.
Our 10 day quarantine is over today and it's the first day since getting it that I don't have a runny or stuffy nose. Even though having COVID-19 wasn't too bad for us, it will be nice to be able to do a little more soon.
We're grateful we got through it as easily as we did and we're praying for those that don't have it so easy.
Hopefully this whole pandemic ends soon and life can become a little more social again.
