Aaron's a Two Year Old!

We're gearing up for the terrible two's in our house again... Although with how sweet and cute Aaron is, I'm thinking it will actually be pretty chill!

This past Monday, we celebrated Aaron's birthday and for the first time, I realized just how close to Christmas and New Year's it really is! I'm pretty glad it's after though instead of before because that gives me a chance to buy his presents after all the holiday fun so it doesn't feel like he's getting gypped…

This year, I made funfetti cupcakes for his birthday with vanilla icing. Aaron and Brooke helped with the sprinkles and also helped make the car track for the cupcakes. We then put little car toppers on top that I printed off and cut out.

I made Aaron's cupcake bigger just for fun and he pretty much just ate the icing. Haha!

For his birthday dinner, we had chili and hot dogs. It was either going to be that or mac and cheese (two of his favorites although he's not too picky) but with the temperature making it up to 40 degrees Fahrenheit, it was a good excuse to use the grill. Lol.

For his birthday, I gave him a car track rug to go with the cars Santa brought him this year. David gave him a little firetruck that plays a siren sound and lights up when he pushes a button and John gave him a little tractor toy with some animal finger puppets. Brooke wanted to give him a red kid Adirondack chair. He actually saw Brooke's present early on accident while she was helping bring it upstairs from the car. Aaron was smiling and jumping up and down all excited when he saw it. Then, when Brooke put it down in her room, Aaron ran over to give her a big hug and then ran back to the chair and sat right down in it! It was super cute even if the surprise was spoiled and I'm glad he loved the present she picked out for him!

Overall, it has been a good year for our little Aaron. He has grown a lot in the past year, going from scooting and barely walking to running as most kids do during that year. He has also shown his personality more which is fun. He has always been a very loveable, sweet, and cute boy, but the more he has been able to react to us and with us, the more his funny side has come out. There have been many times when he has done something funny just to see us laugh.

The best is whenever he says something (in a baby babble language) and then gives a cute chuckle about it. We ask him what he said to try to understand it, and he repeats the same exact sounds and then laughs again. He's definitely trying to tell us something specific in those moments that he thinks is funny and it is so cute!

Just within the past week, he has also learned to say "Wah, Momma!" (meaning "Watch, Mama!") before doing something fun that he wants me to see (usually jumping on the bed or going down his slide or something).

It has been really great to see this little boy's personality show and we're all excited to see it even more as he learns new words!

Here's to the "terrible two's", Air Bear!
