David turned 9!

David turned another year older this past week and we had a lot of fun celebrating him!

The first thing we did was bring donuts to celebrate with his school class on Thursday.

Then, on Saturday, we had a Nerf themed birthday party for him with all of his buddies. David helped make the invitations to look like Nerf darts the week before and passed them out at school.

With there being no school the day before, I wasn't sure how many people would be out of town. Turns out it was 2... only 2 people were out of town... Which meant we had 26 boys at his party! Pretty crazy, but they all had fun.

My sister Tami was the DJ and my sister Julia was the MC and they did a great job! It was seriously so helpful to have them there! Especially when I had to duck out to go and pick up the pizza.

We also made cupcakes for his party and topped them with a nerf dart that was made out of half a pirouette dipped in chocolate. I didn't take pictures before so here's the only cupcake that was left... Haha!

With Sunday being his actual birthday, we had the special dinner he requested: fish.

And when asked what he wanted for a side dish, his response was "more fish." Lol.

So, we had baked fish with butterfly shrimp and shrimp scampi. (I know, I know... technically not fish. But shrimp was a lot better of a choice than fish sticks which also may or may not be real fish. Haha!)

Since I made two batches of cupcakes for his birthday party, I wasn't totally up for making another crazy cake right afterwards.

Luckily, he asked for cheesecake this time instead! I used the same recipe that I made for my cousin's wedding and it turned out great!

In the end, it was a good birthday and David sure is a great kid!
