Brooke turned 8!

Brooke had a birthday this week and she is now officially 8! 

She got lucky this weekend and her Aunt Julia was at our house to celebrate with us. I wasn't sure how great her birthday would be since we moved to a new city the weekend before, but her aunt's definitely made sure it was the best birthday ever!

They took her out to lunch, to the Nickel arcade, and then to a dessert cafe. Aunt Tami and her friend even surprised her with a cute present full of everything pink and princessy. She definitely had a good time and told me later that it was the best day of her life so far.

Once she got home from her adventures, we had her choice of dinner (spaghetti) and cake.

Since, I knew we were moving, we decided at the last minute to plan a quick birthday party for Brooke with all of her friends two weeks before. I'm so glad we did even though we were super busy with moving and planning a family reunion on my mom's side. She wanted her party to be a ballerina party, so that's what we did! We had games, bracelet making, ballerina cupcakes, and a ballerina piñata. I'm glad she was able to have this last hurrah with her friends before we moved.

With this being Brooke's 8th birthday, she chose to get baptized to become a member of our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a little nervous at first about the idea of everyone coming to watch her get baptized, but as it got closer, she said she wasn't nervous anymore, just excited.

We are so proud of the wonderful girl our miss Brookie is. People often feel bad that she's the only girl in our family, but she definitely holds her own and has enough girly-ness in her for the whole family. Haha!
