David is growing up and turned 12 this week! This year has a lot of changes in store for him as he is now a deacon at our church and is also going into middle school towards the end of the year!
Since this is our year off for friend birthdays (we do those every other year) we just celebrated with family this time.
Even though it was his birthday, David still had to go to school. He was a good sport about it like most kids are. One fun surprise though was that his Grandma LeStarge picked him up for lunch and took him to In-N-Out! He had no idea that was coming so it really brightened his day.
Then, on her way home from work, David's Grandma saw that there was free Italian Ice at Rita's to celebrate the first day of Spring so she picked up our kiddos and took them all to get one. David was excited to find out that they do this every year on the first day of Spring so if he wants, he has a free birthday treat lined up for forever. Haha!
For his birthday dinner this year, David asked if we could eat pot stickers with ham fried rice and chow mien. And of course, sticking with the last few years, David asked for a cheesecake for his birthday instead of normal cake. He asked for half plain cheesecake and half raspberry cheesecake so that's what I made!
Probably the highlight of David's birthday gifts this year was a 3D printer. Although this was a bit more expensive than we would normally go for a birthday, his Grandparents heard that he was saving up for one and decided to pitch in some money to help. He has loved making fun things for his siblings and himself already!
We're proud of the great kid David is becoming. He is a great big brother and adds so much fun and joy to our family.
