When John and I were dating, we thought it would be fun to take a college class together. Dance classes filled up really fast, and John's not really into art, so... we decided to take a cooking class!
On a side note: If anyone has an opportunity to take a cooking class, do it. It was so fun!
One of the best things about this cooking class (other than getting to keep the leftover food each week!) was the list of recipes we got out of it! The recipe in this post actually comes from that class and is one of my favorites! Plus, it's super easy! I've only made one small change to the original recipe, which I'll talk about in a little bit...
To make this bread, mix together 3 Tablespoons of soft butter, 1 teaspoon minced garlic, 1 1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley (or you can use 3/4 teaspoon dried parsley), and 4 teaspoons grated Parmesan cheese until it's all combined. Next, cut a loaf of french bread in half and spread the garlic butter mixture on the bread. I personally like this ratio of spread to bread. The original recipe uses this amount of garlic spread on only 1/3 of a loaf of french bread, but to me, that seems like it would leave the bread soaked and wet with butter! Plus, this makes it healthier than the original recipe so I can eat as much of it as I want... ;)
Last, place the bread in the oven on broil for 2-3 minutes. Watch it closely because just 30 seconds too long and it will burn!
Cut the bread into individually servings and enjoy!
This bread is sooo much better than the store prepared garlic bread! I love that this is such an easy way to make it without it tasting soggy with too much butter or plain because there wasn't enough. Like Goldilocks would say, this bread is just right!
