At just over a year old, Aaron pulls off most of his bibs during meals but we keep putting them on him anyway.
Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't.
And sometimes you walk outside to find out that Brooke tried giving her little brother a mustache with chocolate pudding...
Either way, the only bib we own that works amazingly and can't be pulled off was actually a homemade gift from my cousin's wife. It ties in the back and is large enough to actually cover my son's entire shirt!
It works so well that this week, I decided to make two more. It's time to restock our supply. Haha!
I usually just make them out of dollar store hand towels. First, I fold one over about a third of the way down. I then cut a straight line in the middle third of the top fold and another cut down the middle as well.
To make the white edging, I just used an old card (any credit card would work) to measure the size I needed. I cut out the length I wanted and two smaller lengths for the sides in the back. I ironed the white fabric in half, then folded the sides in and ironed them again.
I sewed the white edging with the hand towel in the middle of it. I sewed two lines to give it a little extra support in case Aaron was pulling on it to try to get it off... Good luck with that kiddo! Lol.
The last step is to sew the front to the back by sewing a small line on the edge of the towel where the front meets the back. This creates arm holes.
And just like that, this bib was done in less than a day!
Now hopefully Aaron's summer clothes will have a chance! Or at least half a chance... I can't do much about playground dirt. Lol.
