With all the craziness going on, Mother's Day was actually a nice taste of "normal" again since usually it's a pretty chill day. The only thing different was having church at home again. I guess I'll have to wait until next year for my Mother's Day mint truffle from church. (Perks! Lol.)
During the weekend, we did a bunch of clothes shopping for my sister Tami to get ready for her mission! She got a ton of cute stuff and we also got to try Chick-Fil-A's Frozen Lemonade! So good! And currently craving it while I'm writing this. Haha! While us girls were doing that, the kids went with John and my dad to Antelope Island and had a pretty fun time!
On Sunday, we had strawberries and whipped cream on waffles (a Mother's Day tradition) and then drove to my Grandma and Aunt's house to have lunch/dinner with her. My dad made some amazing salmon (also kind of a tradition) and we had a nice time visiting and having church together.
(We visited with my Grandma Grimes on Tuesday the week before and missed this picture taken on Sunday, but here it is just for fun!)
The next holiday John and I celebrate in our house is always our Anniversary! This year we hit 8 years! I guess I should be used to hearing how old I am, but it still sounds crazy to me. I'll probably be an 80 year old some day and still be thinking, "What?? No. I just turned 23 a few years ago!" Lol.
This year, with so much closed, we decided to wait a little bit and celebrate it in a few weeks. Since the original plan was to celebrate it in Disneyland, I came up pretty clueless while planning it at first. With John though, I know no matter where we are, it's going to be fun.
This last celebration isn't an official holiday, but it should be this year. David's done with the school year!!
With mandatory home schooling, it was a rough end of the school semester. It felt like my kids were all taking turns with who would have a hard day. As soon as one was chill, the other would decide to have a hard time. There were a few times I remember sending them outside to play in the hopes they would stop arguing... Ten minutes later they were running back to me about something the other one did. Through all of this craziness, Aaron (the baby!) has surprisingly been the easiest, even while teething... Hopefully not having to argue over homework will help everyone calm down. That, and public parks opening up again will definitely help!
Oh yeah, and the hope of a Disneyland trip in the near future. We'll have to wait and see!
