David is Double Digits!

This last week, David had his birthday and he is now officially a ten year old.

For his birthday this year, he asked for a Mandalorian Lego set and John and I also decided to get him a new bike since he has grown out of his. We also got him a light up water bottle and water bottle carrier he can put on his new bike along with a few other small things his siblings gave him.

For his cake, David wanted an "Among Us" oreo cake with oreo icing. I followed this tutorial to make it look like outer space (although with oreo icing, it wasn't as smooth) and then stuck on some cupcake toppers I got online.

Another fun thing David asked for this year was that his presents be hidden around the house as a scavenger hunt instead of wrapped. That was something we had to do for Aaron's birthday since I wasn't able to get more wrapping paper in time (that turned out to be a happy accident) and David wanted to do the same thing! Brooke asked if hers could be hidden instead of wrapped too when it's her birthday which is great! We'll see how long that trend lasts, but for now, I'm just happy to be saving money on wrapping paper and making it a little more fun for the kids at the same time.

With how sick the kids have all been this past week, I told my sister not to come up so we wouldn't get her sick. Buuuut, she showed up anyway. Haha! It was a surprise to all of us but it honestly made David's birthday more fun. She showed us how to play real life "Among Us" and also picked up Chinese food (rather than help me make fried rice, lol.) since David asked for pot stickers for his birthday dinner.

David is such a fun and thoughtful kid. Although sometimes he acts like a teenager instead of a ten year old, he is quick to apologize and is a good big brother. He loves to experiment and build new things. He is a creative kid and a good friend and we love having him in our family!
